Cabot Trails Acoustic Concert & Dinner Series

The Cabot Shores Acoustic Concert & Dinner Series is a beloved summer tradition along Cape Breton’s Cabot Trail, blending world-class music with fresh, locally inspired cuisine. Several nights a week, talented musicians—both local and visiting—perform intimate acoustic sets in the Bistro’s Great Room or lively shows under the stars at the Woodstack Stage. Every Thursday and Saturday, concerts are paired with a seasonal feast and followed by a lively kitchen party or jam session, welcoming both performers and guests to join in. 

The Bistro’s menu highlights fresh seafood and produce from Cabot Shores’ gardens, offering a true taste of the island. Hike the Highlands Festival

The annual Hike the Highlands Festival returns to Cape Breton Island from September 13–19, 2025, celebrating the region’s stunning fall landscapes. This seven-day event along the Cabot Trail and Northern Cape Breton features guided hikes, evening presentations, and special ceremonies, including the popular hiker distance award and photo contest. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore iconic trails, learn from local experts, and connect with a robust hiking community. Celtic Colours International Festival

The Celtic Colours International Festival is a nine-day celebration (October 10–18, 2025) of Cape Breton Island’s rich living traditions, held each October across the island’s communities. Featuring world-class musicians alongside local singers, dancers, storytellers, and culture bearers, the festival brings an authentic glimpse into Cape Breton’s Celtic heritage. Concerts and events take place in a wide variety of venues, from intimate community halls and churches to modern theatres and schools.

Rock the Fiddle

Rock the Fiddle returns to the Sydney waterfront August 14–16, 2025, and is billed as Cape Breton’s biggest summer music celebration. Featuring top-tier performers like Jimmy Rankin, Matt Minglewood, and The Privateers, the festival takes place across two stages with day‑and‑evening sets blending Celtic, rock, and folk styles. 

This three-day event will showcase the island’s finest musical talent alongside some of Canada’s most notable acts, creating an immersive live-music experience on the scenic Port of Sydney. With weekend passes and VIP options available, Rock the Fiddle promises fun, dance, and unforgettable performances for music lovers of all stripes.
