The Cedar Yurt
$175/night - 2 Adults
$195/night - 2+ Adults
Imagine the fragrance of fresh cedar as you wake when the sun rises. Many guests don’t think of the aroma when choosing a place to stay, but it’s a pleasant surprise that delights all our guests.
Our unique Cedar Yurt was hand built close to all the amenities you could ask for and with a view of Church Pond with St. Ann’s Bay in the distance.
Complementing the cedar walls is a beautiful red pine floor (insulated underneath), and overhead is the center piece of the Yurt – a domed skylight. A fireplace ensures comfort for all four seasons. This truly is “glamping” at its best.
The Yurt is designed by the famous cedar home and barrel builder, David Byers of New Brunswick. Here we are installing the Yurt in June (Dr. Paul, David, and Sheldon of Sydney Mines).
This spacious yurt smells of fresh cedar boards and is perfect for a couples getaway or a family road trip. It can comfortably sleep up to 4 people, with a queen bed and a bunk bed with two twins, loveseat, coffee table and chairs inside. A wood stove will keep you toasty in colder months. The skylight allows you to view the stars on clear night. There is a softtub located on the yurts deck, which can be rented (for an additional fee). This popular yurt is the only one of its kind at Cabot Shores with it's close access to our organic gardens and chickens. Showers and washrooms are located beside the Cedar Yurt in Whiff's Lodge.

Rated One of the Coolest Places to Go Glamping in Canada
"From fully furnished chalets to geodesic domes and yurts, there is an accommodation for every type of camper here. But one of the coolest on offer? The Treetop Village, which is composed of geodesic domes on high stilts so you can sleep among the trees. Each dome offers something different — breathtaking views of the Atlantic, famous views of the full moon and stars. Don’t forget to visit the private beach while you’re there, too."
