Fun Downhill Skiing at Cape Smokey

Cape Smokey is a nice little ski area on the Cabot Trail, right at the edge of Ingonish.
It is open through March, from Friday through Sunday and everyday during March Break.
Staffed by volunteers, the rentals and skiing are very economical.  And best of all are the
views you get of Ingonish Island, Ingonish Harbor and Middlehead.
The conditions were good the day I visited in March and I couldn’t help but look out on the
Harbour, each time I got to the top.   Pack ice comes in from the Atlantic and forms an amazing
vista.
