@ Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort, Feb 24-26, 2023
Join Robin and Blaine for a mindful retreat to set up your system to the synergies of Winter. We
will explore grounding and settling practices through breath, mediation, mindfulness, and movement.
The weekend includes hand prepared, farm to table meals (welcome appies, breakfast both
morning, picnic lunch, and supper Sat night), two nights of delightful accommodations as per
your choice of booking, daily morning and evening yoga asana classes in a beautiful and
spacious loft, guided mediations, off-site hiking (all levels), group gathers and discussions, and
loads of free time to wander, ponder, read, soak in the hot tubs, simmer in the sauna, book some
acupuncture or enjoy a sip in front of the fire. Opt in to all, or build your weekend as it best suits you.
All meals offered will be deliciously hand made and vegan. (Non vegan options are available
upon request ahead of time) Dietary requirements and/or restrictions can be accommodated,
please note with booking.
The hike/walk takes place rain/snow or shine, so clothing to embrace this is suggested.
Schedule of Events:

Friday
4-6pm: Check in at lodge front desk for personal accommodations
6:30 pm: Meet and Greet in the Event Space with snacks and Opening Welcome Circle
7:15-8:30pm OM Healing Sounds and Yin/Restorative yoga
8:30pm: Optional gather for a group bonfire, or retire for the evening
Saturday
7:30-8:30am: Morning Flow Yoga
9am: Breakfast
10:00am: Guided introductory walk around the beautiful Cabot Shores property
11:00am Proceed to Red Island Hike for programming of Rock Release Session, and Mandala Building
12:30pm: Picnic lunch (weather dependent, otherwise at the lodge)
1-4pm: personal/ free time Use of hot tub, sauna, lodge lounge, option to explore the grounds, read, or book acupuncture* with Barbara *fee applies
4-6:30pm: Programming in Loft: Mindfulness- through journaling, breathing, and Yoga practices
6:30pm: Supper
8pm: Fire Release Ceremony
Sunday
8:00-9:00am: Morning Flow Yoga
9:00-10:00am: Breakfast
10:30am: Meditation, breathing practice, mudra practice
11:30pm: Closing Circle, farewells and proceed to check out

You can sign up for shared or non-shared occupancy below for the Fall Wellness Retreat–“Nurture Meets Nature & Adventure”:
Yoga Retreat Feb.24-26 (Non-Shared Occupancy) is available in lodge rooms 1 2, 3 and small yurts like little blue, little orange, little sky and little red)–depending on availability. (CAD $838 Inc. tax and fee per person)
Yoga Retreat Feb.24-26 (Shared Occupancy) is in large yurts, rooms 5 and 6 in the lodge, private bedrooms in chalets, large yurts (Cedar, Forest, White Moon, Big Sky Blue, Big Red (CAD $666 Inc. tax and fee per person)
Package Highlights:
- Domes or Large Yurts with woodstove and firepits, small yurts with electric heater and firepit.
- Hot tub on the deck or nearby.
- Barrel Sauna on sauna deck with a changing room or Infrared Sauna in the Common Room of the Lodge.
- 3 meals (Brekafast, lunch and Dinner) a day at Cabot Shores Bistro.
- Other activities will be in the Event Space upstairs in event building, through the Blue Door.
About the Guides:
Blaine Carter
Blaine is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher who has been teaching since 2014. He is
trained in Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra, as well as the specialty of Love Your
Brain Yoga, for those impacted by traumatic brain injury. He currently teaches at Shanti
Yoga studios in HRM, and is an avid outdoorsman. Through travel to India and a mix of
online and in person workshops, he continues to delve deeper into the roots and history
of yoga. Blaine has a warm personality and a wealth and depth of knowledge.
He grew up in NS has been leading retreats, teaching yoga, guiding hikes, and teaching
Standup Paddle Board skills at Cabot Shores since 2015.
Robin Thompson
Robin brings over 500 hours of certified yoga teacher training, Thai Yoga Massage and
thousands of hours of teaching over the last 11 years from Halifax, and India. She is a
part owner of Halifax’s On The Mat Yoga Studio, where she teaches weekly classes and
workshops, as well as co-leading international yoga retreats, and running a children’s
charity in India.
Robin grew up in a temperate rainforest on B.C’s West Coast, has her BA in
Environmental Studies and Resource Geography from UVic, and found her way to yoga
when her second daughter was born in 2006.
Robin and Blaine have paired together for yoga retreats in India, led a few years of
seasonal retreats at Cabot Shores, and are so happy to work together in offering you
this weekend to ‘Set for Summer’ at the amazing Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort.
