Shambhala Children’s Day and Winter Solstice celebration
December 22 @ 3:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
You are warmly invited to a Shambhala Children’s Day and Winter Solstice celebration
Join us Saturday, December 22, 3:30pm at Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort & Retreat Centre.
Children’s Day and Winter Solstice are both celebrated on December 22nd. Because this marks the time of year when daylight has waned and the night is longest, light is a special characteristic of this holiday. At a time when darkness is prevalent, we celebrate our children and their natural ability to remind us of the warmth, heart, and cheerfulness of basic goodness. It is an opportunity for families with young children and for the entire community to celebrate together.
This year we will celebrate with a candle and song ceremony, a lhasang ceremony (outdoor fire with smoke ceremony), stories, and the setting a personal “Act of Kindness” intention, followed by a potluck feast.
What to bring:
* Good boots and layers of clothing so you can be warm outdoors
* A favourite dish and drink to share for the potluck dinner
Please RSVP Barbara, 902 929 2584, firstname.lastname@example.org, by December 18.
Free of Charge – donations gratefully accepted
