Volunteering
Located on the Atlantic side of the Cabot Trail, Cabot Shores is a second home to guests from all over the world. We offer a range of traditional and unique accommodations, outdoor adventures, wellness services, cultural activities and serve nutritious meals in our Bistro. We are always looking throughout the year for volunteer to help around in a large range of activities. Most of your staff / volunteers are involved in more than one activity. Let us know what your skills & interests are and join our team of hardworking, fun-loving staff and spend your time in a beautiful setting, enjoying activities onsite such as meditation, Qi Gong, kayaking, hiking, swimming, music jams, and more.
Duties could include:
- Assist in maintenance
- Fill, empty and clean Hot Tubs
- Snow Removal on the decks of our lodging, drive ways and walking paths as necessary
- Help with housekeeping
- Serving in our Bistro
- Help in the kitchen with baking and cooking for volunteers
- Prepare, stack and arrange wood
Requirements:
- Enjoy working outside (whatever weather condition is)
- Be coachable and willing to learn
- Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
- Enjoy being in a rural area of Cape Breton
General information:
- This is a non-paid volunteer position; work-stay/volunteer position with room & board
- Room and board and adventures/experiences are provided. In your free time paddle on our lake, swim in the lake, ocean or brook, hike, partake in or enjoy music jams, explore the island and more
- Working Holiday Visa holders are welcome to apply, there may be some paid work as needed, in addition to volunteering
- Generally expect 6 hours of work a day, depending on what needs doing at the time
- We ask for a minimum of 1 month commitment
