Located on the Atlantic side of the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton, Cabot Shores is a second home to guests and staff from all over the world. We offer a range of traditional and unique accommodations, outdoor adventures, wellness & cultural activities and serve delicious meals in our bistro. Administration & Management

Our management team works closely together to ensure daily operations are done smoothly. We are looking for individuals who are efficient and comfortable being a member of a team.
The ability to multi-task, while maintaining and managing administrative support, is essential in this position. You will be responsible for coordinating activities and helping people reach their full potential. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized.

Chef

Our busy restaurant is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Chef who is passionate about food. The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural leader who always has a finger on the pulse of current culinary trends. The Chef will be responsible for assigning work in the kitchen, preparing meals for 15-60 diners and kitchen inventory management.

Front Desk / Guest Services

Our Front Desk team is a visitors’ first point of contact to Cabot Shores! The successful candidate should be outgoing and friendly with a positive attitude and a natural talent for customer service and multitasking skills.
We want our guests to feel at home and develop a positive relationship with those of us at Cabot Shores. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for them.

Housekeeping

We are an eco-friendly resort and use non-toxic cleaning products and detergents. We are looking for professional housekeepers able of attending to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail while being efficient. Our goal is to create a clean and pleasant environment for our guests to stay in.

Maintenance & Repair

We operate a 55-acre property with a dozen yurts, several treetop domes, four chalets, rooms in the main lodge, a campsite and a farmhouse 12km up the road which need regular maintenance. We’re looking for professionals who can take the initiative and help anticipate problems before they occur. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with vendors, visitors and anyone else he or she encounters on the job.

Students Positions

At Cabot Shores, we offer different full time student positions during the summer such as front desk, event coordination, marketing, apprentice chef, maintenance & building, etc. If you are under one of the following program, we are interested in talking to you.
- Incentive Skill Program (for resident of Nova Scotia and full time student)
- COOP Program (for resident of Nova Scotia and full time student)
- Student Summer Job Program (for full time students)

Garden to Table Internship

Spend two or more months living in a beautiful, remote area on the Atlantic, helping us care for our vegetable gardens. Learn about landscaping, trail making, foraging and more. Harvest herbs & vegetables and prepare them for the bistro and staff kitchens. Learn to process herbs, vegetables, berries, mushrooms and more. Learn about making yogurt-making, granola, bread baking, kombucha, chaga, pestos, pickles and more. Be part of a dynamic, hardworking, fun-loving team that serves our guests from all over the world. This is a non-paid volunteer position; room and board and adventures/experiences are provided. In your free time paddle on our lake, swim in the lake, ocean or brook, hike, partake in or enjoy music jams, explore the island and more.

Volunteering

Throughout the year, we are always looking for volunteer to help us in a wide range of activities such as maintenance, hot tub, cooking, housekeeping, snow removal, serving, etc. Most of your staff / volunteers are involved in more than one activity. Let us know what your skills and interests are. This is a non-paid volunteer position; room and board and adventures/experiences are provided. In your free time paddle on our lake, swim in the lake, ocean or brook, hike, partake in or enjoy music jams, explore the island and more.
