Lobsterpalooza 2009

Lobsterpalooza 2008 was voted one of the top 100 events in  North America by the American Bus Association.

What's Lobsterpalooza and What Surprises Come With It?

 The Lobsterpalooza is about lobster.

It's about lobster eating, lobster heritage and fun.

Lobsterpalooza is Cape Breton Island's and Nova Scotia's first and only FEASTIVAL.

Described as over 182 miles of "seafood and seafaring traditions"The history, the heritage, the entertainment of lobster, as well--with every kind of Lobster Event that Capers can think of...and then some.

And there's "Lobster" stories and lore as well.  Here's one I know from personal experience:

Lobster Eating Anecdote

I know a minister whose been on Cape Breton 41 years and is a great fan of lobster.   Let's call him Reverent Donny.

Each time the Reverend takes his niece to eat and gets served, he's asked,"which night of lobster is this for you?

Last summer, the answer was close to 30."

How many did lobster did you pay for?" he was asked.

The answer, "not a one."

PS. For a select group, we offer "lobster journeys" It's not for everyone. But if you're interested, go to our infoform on the web and let us know (even if you're not staying at Cabot Shores).

You go to the Lobster pier and receive a fresh lobster right off the boat.  Later that day we have a lobster boil on Cabot Shores'
peninsula and you may even have  the lobster fisherman there to explain the history.

Regardless, you can get a preview of WHERE your lobster comes from and who CATCHES it on a short video we did on a local
lobster fishing family.

You don't even have to visit Cabot Shores or Cape Breton to enjoy the video.

"Thanks for making our stay at Cabot Shores a memorable event. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty of the surroundings, and found the view of the ocean from our chalet porch each morning and evening a great way to start and end the day. The chalet was comfortable, the meals delicious and the service absolutely superb. Our hikes and short but exhilarating swims reminded us of the special role nature plays in our lives, and the importance of preserving our environment. We complement you on your vision of helping to keep alive the history of the Native people. The Sunday night music event with both Scottish and Mi 'kmaq music and dancing was an eye and ear opening experience we will long remember.

Please give our best to the rest of the Cabot Shores crew. "

"For a serene, peaceful get-away, this is the ideal spot. We loved the natural simplicity of the decor...so comfortable and well-planned. We have everything that we need within the peace of an environmental oasis..." (Paul & Alison Lannan, Wolfville, Nova Scotia)
