Motorcycle Journeys

Cape Breton is a great destination for motorcyclists. This summer is a time for a big Hogs Rally on July 29th in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Cabot Shores provides a Motorcycle Guesthouse, camping spots or even the four-star chalets and lodge for you, good parking for a range of bikes...

Explore the Cliffs

Cabot Shores/North has a great cliff down to the ocean. A rope makes the descent easy, and Max here is leading his whole family down to the beach.

Downhill Skiing

A number of guests ski in Zermatt, Switzerland; Park City, Utah; Mt Tremblant Quebec; even Whistler, BC, but they've never before been to a place like Cape Smokey near Ingonish, Cape Breton, where you have a fabulous view of the Bay and Ocean, see eagles' nests as you go up the lift. The lift lines are short, the trails are for skiers and boarders of all abilities.

Cross Country Skiing / Snowshoeing

Go out the door and you can country ski or snowshoe. On other days you can skate down rivers and on Church Pond. You like groomed trails? There's one about seven miles from Cabot Shores.

Dog Sledding

Go thru the winter woods on a dogsled! Book way in advance because when there's snow it's a popular and special event of winter on Cape Breton.

Snowmobiling

Trails go into the Highlands area and across to Mabou, from the east to the west of Cape Breton and back again. Snowmobile guides and snowmobile rentals are available from Cabot Shores.

"'The atmosphere was very inviting. The hospitality was exceptional and so much appreciated. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable"

Sharon Fleming, Halifax NS

"I had one of these magic experiences in Cabot Shores when we went up the Indian Brook. We canoed, walked and swam up to these amazing waterfalls. Everything was just right. There were wild strawberries on the banks and great swimming holes, and we even spotted an eagle. It was just beautiful. A real awakening of the senses."

Anna, New York, NY
