Canoeing
|
A world traveler from Columbia, South America travels to a special place with her family every summer.
At Cabot Shores, Adriana's and her sisters' families set out on Church Pond and turned up Indian Brook on their canoes. Even the teenagers find fun on the water - and back at the lodge with other teens from all over the world. |

Boat Tours
|
You have your choice in terms of boat tours. There's sailing or motor boat whale tours... with seals and dolphins a pleasant bonus.
You can also get up at 4:00am and assist Cabot Shores' lobster trapping neighbors pull their traps, or you can take a special lobster boat tour around St. Anne's Bay leaving at 9:00, get some sample lobster that they can turn into a luncheon feast!
Your pictures or their will document this great boating experience. |
Sailing the Bay
|
Charter a sailboat for a tour from Baddeck, past Alexander Bell's Island. Take your own cruise along St. Anne's Bay to the Bird Islands... Or launch your own sailboat on Church Pond, without leaving Cabot Shores... It's your choice. Depends on the day. Almost always a good wind on Cape Breton.

Trout Fishing
|
Cabot Shores/Wreck Cove has a little pond for family trout fishing. One day they built the raft, the next day they fish for trout in water so clear you see the strike. More experienced anglers go the Highlands with native guides for trout and the occasional salmon. There's "fish in them hills..." says John, a Cabot Shores guide. And there's fly fishing for beginners and experts alike. |
Ice Fishing
|
Pick a spot, drill and fish. Near Cabot Shores there's trout and smelt, depending on what is running (or who is sitting!). |

"Thanks for making our stay at Cabot Shores a memorable event. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty of the surroundings, and found the view of the ocean from our chalet porch each morning and evening a great way to start and end the day. The chalet was comfortable, the meals delicious and the service absolutely superb. Our hikes and short but exhilarating swims reminded us of the special role nature plays in our lives, and the importance of preserving our environment. We complement you on your vision of helping to keep alive the history of the Native people. The Sunday night music event with both Scottish and Mi 'kmaq music and dancing was an eye and ear opening experience we will long remember.
Please give our best to the rest of the Cabot Shores crew. "

"What a wonderful place you have. Can't thank you enough for having me and my family here. I just told the staff and John they are great people. We will always be a part of you all now."
