Nick & Marni's Wedding
at Cabot Shores

August 4th, 2007

Having the wedding at Cabot Shores allows many of our family, friends, and family’s friends to contribute their talents and resources to the event. We are very excited, and love the idea of our wedding being a “gathering” of family and friends. Growing up, both of us have many, many fond memories of our families coming together over hill and dale to cook meals, decorate, and celebrate together. We could think of no better way of celebrating our day than to mix together the rich traditions of our four families - the Keenans, Bertossis, Shumways and Woloszyns.

We are delighted that you will be staying at Cabot Shores with us for our wedding celebration. We have arranged special accommodation and meal packages for you and encourage you to take advantage of it. We've worked with the fine folks at Cabot Shores to create a menu and to provide recreational opportunities that we are sure you will enjoy. Below are a few options to stay for just the weekend or to extend your trip for a week. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or need any help planning your trip...

* Something to keep in mind right now: As of January, 2007, anyone (including minors) flying or taking a train into Canada will need a passport. Anyone driving/walking/bicycling into Canada will NOT need a passport until 2008.

Much love,
Nick & Marni

Cabot Shores on the Cabot Trail is situated at the intersection of waterfall fed Indian Brook, Church Pond and the Atlantic. It is a sanctuary for birds, moose and all kinds of wildlife. In addition, John Lafford, a Mi ‘kmaq, is leading the building of a native American village on the site. His vision is to help the world re-connect to the earth, to a spiritual path and to the importance of understanding our history and learning from it.

Cape Breton provides a wealth of opportunities to explore and experience along the Cabot Trail. Many of these adventures lie within a ten minute drive from Cabot Shores. These experiences include: great hiking & beachcombing, swimming, boating, whale watching, native sweats, firewalking, arts (music, crafts, galleries), wellness (acupuncture, massage, reiki, yoga, & gi gong), golfing, tracking, and native tours.

Nick and Marni will take part in some of this fun and we will be organizing some special activities for their guests - music, barn fire, fun surprises... Please indicate on your order form what experiences you are most interested in, so that we can customize your stay to meet your interests.

"Thanks for making our stay at Cabot Shores a memorable event. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty of the surroundings, and found the view of the ocean from our chalet porch each morning and evening a great way to start and end the day. The chalet was comfortable, the meals delicious and the service absolutely superb. Our hikes and short but exhilarating swims reminded us of the special role nature plays in our lives, and the importance of preserving our environment. We complement you on your vision of helping to keep alive the history of the Native people. The Sunday night music event with both Scottish and Mi 'kmaq music and dancing was an eye and ear opening experience we will long remember.

Please give our best to the rest of the Cabot Shores crew. "
